When can I expect my refund to be processed?Most returns process within 2 weeks, however if ATO need to manually process it, it may take up to 30 calendar days.

What if I only need a rough estimate?If you only need an estimate, or you’d like to compare our calculation with the ATO’s myTax or Etax, that’s absolutely fine.
We can provide a free estimate and go through your individual circumstances — including your family situation, dependents, and work-related deductions — to help maximise your potential refund. -

What qualifies as ‘other work-related expenses’ for my tax return?Examples of Other Work-Related Expenses Include:

>> Union membership fees
>> Income protection insurance

Do I need to provide my group certificates and receipts?No, you don’t need to submit any paper documents.
If your deductions are significant, an accountant may advise you and request copies.
Otherwise, we can access your group certificates directly from the ATO system. -
What occurs if I choose not to claim the tax-free threshold?Not claiming the tax-free threshold may mean more tax is withheld from your pay upfront, but it could also lead to a larger refund at the end of the financial year.

Which donations are eligible for tax deductions?You can only claim a tax deduction for gifts or donations made to organisations that are registered as Deductible Gift Recipients (DGRs).

Will having a second job increase my tax?You cannot claim the tax-free threshold from a second source of income within the same financial year. As a result, individuals with a second job may receive a smaller tax refund.

Do I need to provide receipts for tax deductions?Yes, you will need receipts, a diary, logbook, or similar records to prove that the expense was incurred.
An accountant will review your situation with you, as some expenses may be claimable up to a certain limit even without receipts. -
What does the tax-free threshold mean?If you are an Australian resident for tax purposes, the first $18,200 of your annual income is tax-free. This is known as the tax-free threshold.
By claiming this threshold, you can reduce the amount of tax withheld from your pay throughout the year. -
How do I amend my tax return if needed?If you need to update any figures on your tax return, such as income or deductions, the ATO allows amendments within a specific time frame. Simply contact us, and we will guide you through the process.

Will the tax return be filed the same day I authorise it?Yes, once you provide your authorisation, your tax return will be lodged electronically with the ATO on the same day.

When is the deadline to lodge a tax return?For the current financial year, the deadline to lodge your tax return is 31 October. For previous years, your return may already be overdue.
It’s important to lodge any outstanding tax returns as soon as possible to avoid potential penalties from the ATO. -
What if I am self-employed or work under an ABN?If you are self-employed or work under an ABN, you must declare your ABN income and related expenses to the ATO.
